Dear MendMeShop,

I have purchased several pieces from your shop (Tortoise Shellz Full Body Therapy Pad along with two Wrist Inferno Wraps) and we are very happy with all of them. In fact, I don't know what we would do without them, as all the injuries are improving gradually. Thank you for these wonderful products, and thank you, too, for the personal attention to your customers. A rarity, in today's world!

Dear MendMeShop,

I love the products and I can definitely tell they are making a big difference in my healing. I just wish I had known of your products even sooner. I was in a serious motorcycle accident back in July and broke 17 bones, had a collapsed lung, and had numerous twists and sprains along with a lot of swelling. I was in the intensive care unit for 7 days and then in the hospital for 7 more before I was able to go home. To make a long story short, since using your products my pain level has gone down immensely and the swelling is finally under control. I even take the Inferno wrist and back wrap to work and use it since I have a desk job that makes it possible. I am down to just walking with a cane now and will probably be able to get rid of that in about two weeks. I did twenty minutes on the stationary bike yesterday and walked for 1/2 mile on our treadmill. Within another couple months I hope to be back to jogging several miles every other day. The 4 Inferno Wraps and 2 Cold Cure products along with lots of prayers on my behalf have helped make the difference. Thanks again so much, and God Bless you guys for your products! Steve Brown P.S. Also, here is a little more about my status now. I just ran the Peachtree Road Race (a 10K event – 6.2 miles) in 9:07 per mile. That was back on July 4. I just ran a 5K (3.1 miles) in 8:22 per mile this last weekend. I truly believe the wraps helped me get that level of fitness back. Many people my age (55) don't even ever get in that kind of shape, let alone a year after a major accident with all the complications that I had. I still use the Freezie Wraps after running when I can and I still regularly use the Inferno Wraps before many of my runs and exercise to warm things up.

Dear MendMeShop,

I am a very active individual. If I am not running or lifting weights you can usually find me doing various outdoor and home improvement projects. That is why when I recently started experiencing pain in my shoulder, upper arm and forearm I concluded that I had aggravated an old rotator cuff injury. Initially I ignored the discomfort, thinking that that would make it magically disappear but, to my disappointment the pain only continued to get worse. After a couple of months of I pain, I decided to do something for myself. I tried stretching exercises, massage, the heating pad and ibprofen but nothing seemed to be helping. That's when I went online and found the Mend Me Shop and the inferno wrap for the shoulder seemed like a good way to wrap the heat around the immediate area that needed treating. When I picked up the package from the post office I was anxious to get started. I was so pleased that after only three days of using the products, I was feeling relief. It's only been a little over a week since I started treatments and I can say that I can once again imagine living without the that constant pain. Thanks so much for the relief !!!

So far, so good! I've used the shoulder treatment 4x a day for a week now and seen a marked improvement in my shoulder with both flex ability and pain relief. P.S. As a follow up one week after the initial comments... Indeed, after a couple weeks of use, the pain totally subsided. Thanks!!!

Dear MendMeShop,

I have used the Hip inferno device for 9 days now. The results so far are great. I have bursitis and have been getting injections which were helping less and less. With your product, the pain has lessened dramatically. The swelling has gone down as well as the tingling and the numbness in my hip. This is remarkable and welcomed relief as I have a vacation planned in 2 weeks and now I can't wait. You spoke to me on the phone about a back product as I have chronic back pain from an L5-S1 Spondylolithesis. I can't remember which but if you can suggest it again I would like to try it. Again Thanks for your concern and your product. It has certainly increased the "Quality of my Life" already. Regards Steve

Dear MendMeShop,

I am a retired Orthopedic Surgical Registered Nurse First Asst and I just want to say this Shoulder Inferno Wrap is wonderful. I have had adhesive capsulitis in my left shoulder several times. I am 67yo now and I have Arthritis, Lupus and fibromyalgia and I had bilat knee replacements in 2001. It has always taken about 6months to get back use of my arm and to get relief from pain. I read your information and was expecting it to take at least 6weeks to see an improvement. I have used it this short time since receiving it and I am almost painfree. Occasionally I start to feel a little ache and I put it back on before it becomes pain I have full range of motion when I could not brush my hair or fasten my bra. Again, I am so pleased and hope it helps others too. Jane P.S. I would like to encourage others to try the products and see if they get the same remarkable results as I did. I continue to improve with full ROM remaining and only occasional episodes of pain; As soon as I feel any pain, I use it 2-3 days in a row and the pain is gone. This is probably Arthritis as it feels different.

More Groin Injury Facts:

If you have a groin strain, you will feel pain within your inner thigh; if the injury is severe enough, you may have difficulty walking.

Approximately 10% of ice-hockey injuries and 5% of soccer related injuries are groin injuries.

Once you have suffered one Groin injury, there is a much higher likelihood you will suffer another Groin Injury compared to the average person.

A slippery playing surface can increase your odds of a groin strain due to slipping.

Certain Lower Back Issues may potentially cause adductor muscles; weak adductor muscles are more prone to strain than stronger adductor muscles.

A complete tear of an adductor muscle will require reattachment surgery. It is relatively uncommon except in causes of significant trauma (ie. car accident)

Dear MendMeShop,

Things are going well with my healing sessions. I had it three times daily with each session lasting 20 minutes maximum for two weeks. I noticed reduction of pain in my third day using the Inferno Wrap. In my Second week I reduced the sessions to just one (20 Minute) per day. The pain is almost gone except when I make a wrong and abrupt move on or of my right (problematic) shoulder. Hopefully, I do not have to use the Freeze Wrap this summer when I do most of my heavy yard work, but I am assured that there is this cold treatment if in case I hurt my shoulder again. I now have decided not to have an MRI on my shoulder and undergo more expensive treatments or therapy from my specialist ortho doctor . I think his diagnosis of "Frozen shoulder" or possible rotator cup tear are correct. I will be watching my progress and if condition gets worse, I will call him again for appointment. But for the mean time, I am satisfied with my Inferno Wrap treatment on myself. I am glad to have save time and money at least for now. Thanks again for your wonderful products and support. Warm Regards to your Team. P.S. In a follow up email Jesse sent us later in the year, Jesse indicated the Inferno wrap did wonders... it's been almost nine months ago since I purchased your products. I am happy to let you know as today that my frozen shoulder is no longer an issue. I believed in less than a month of continuous therapy sessions per your instructions on the product my pain is gone.

The Shoulder Inferno wrap is working well for my shoulder bursitis. I went to my primary care doctor this week, and she was very interested in the treatments and the success - when little else was working in the last 5 months. My shoulder pain has gone away completely, and so I am obviously very pleased with the results.

Dear MendMeShop,

When I use the knee Inferno wrap consistently it makes a difference. I need a knee replacement but because of my weight issues I can't get the surgery. The wrap gives me much relief. I also tore my rotator cuff and had major reconstructive surgery and 1 year of rehab. Over the years I have stiffness and the shoulder wrap has helped to maintain range of motion. In addition, I have the tortoise shell for the back and I can't say enough. It hits the whole back up to the neck. Wonderful. My sister has planter fasciitis she used the foot wrap consistently for several months, now she only needs to use periodically. I love and use all the products I have purchased and would recommend.

Dear MendMeShop,

As a professional athlete, my body takes a lot of abuse during training. Boxing is very strenuous on the arms and shoulders and I have had a rotator cuff injury for the past two years. The shoulders don't get a lot of blood flow, so injuries don't heal properly on their own. The injury had gotten so bad, I thought I might have to retire from the ring. Then I started using the Inferno Wrap and the Freezie Wrap every day. I use the Inferno Wrap before my workouts to relax and loosen up the muscles in my shoulder and increase the circulation. After a hard training session (sometimes up to 3 hours), I use the Freezie Wrap to deal with any remaining inflammation. My shoulder has felt better in the past two months than it has in the past two years! I highly recommend both of these products to anyone with a chronic injury who is saddled with daily pain. -Molly McConnell Top World ranked professional female boxer

Dear MendMeShop,

The first time I used the shoulder inferno wrap and the freezie wrap was to treat a rotator cuff injury I sustained from over use and aging. I was in my early 60's and an avid tennis player, kayaker, skier, hiker and biker for most of my life. Doctors were recommending surgery but I opted for physical therapy. This helped but did not give me the relief I needed to continue with all of my athletic activities. Then I started using your product. After activities where I used my shoulder, even weight training, I used the freezie wrap followed by the inferno wrap. Then I used the inferno wrap periodically throughout the day while at work. I'm a therapist and my clients were OK with me wearing the wrap during sessions if I felt the need to. I experienced the ability to use my shoulder and be completely pain free. I was thrilled. Then at age 65 I began to have achilles tendon inflammation which became extremely painful. Doctors explained to me that as we age tendons lose flexibility and are more prone to injury. I bought that explanation to a point but again tried physical therapy, prolonged stretching, Ibuprofen and rest. I had relief if I used large regular doses of anti-inflamatory medications but was concerned about the long term negative affects of the meds. I purchased the Ankle inferno and freezie wrap and began the same routine I had used with my rotator cuff injury. I'm happy to say the results were the same. Even this aging body was able to repair and stretch my achilles tendon with exercise, and the cold and warm treatments from your products. Now I am still playing tennis and doing all of my other activities and I remain pain free. After athletics I use the freezie wrap followed by the inferno wrap. Also, before I play racket sports or hike I use the inferno wrap on my ankle and follow with gentle stretching. When I get home I use the freezie wrap. Who knows how long I will be able to continue my active life style. But right now I know that these products are enabling me to be an active, vibrant, aging woman who can (almost) keep up with my kids. I should add that I also maintain a healthy weight, train with weights, exercise every day and eat a plant based diet with lean protein. Even my healthy lifestyle wasn't enough to prevent these nagging injuries that become more prevalent as we age. So....thanks for making a great product ...... and my life more manageable.

Gilmores Groin Injury Specialists are Friendly and Very Helpful.

Groin Injury Surgery and Post-Operative Rehabilitation

Groin pain can stop your fun in its tracks

Not every groin injury or condition requires surgery. Most doctors, physicians and orthopedic specialists will recommend conservative therapy for minor groin injuries before considering surgery.

Having a groin injury can be deliberating and healing completely after surgery can even harder to overcome. If you have been struggling with conservative treatments for 3 to 6 months; you and your doctor may consider groin injury repair surgery.

It's generally understood by doctors and surgeons, that surgery will introduce more scar tissue and create more damage within the injury. This added scar tissue will be problematic, requiring more physical therapy and conservative treatment options post-surgery. If not dealt with properly, your groin injury could end up in worse condition than before the surgery!

This is why surgery is only performed as a last resort.

We Have Advanced Treatment Tools to Help You
Get Back on Your Feet!

Some conservative treatment methods recommended include:

  • Rest - This is important for initial healing because without proper rest you are at risk for increased pain and inflammation. If you are not pro-active with resting of your injury you may get even worse and turn an acute groin injury into a chronic one.
  • Apply Effective Cold Compression
Effective Cold Compression = Treatment with a Freezie Wrap®

The Leg Freezie Wrap treats pain, swelling and inflammation caused by tendon strain.
Immediate cold (using the Leg Freezie Wrap®) will allow you to manage pain while getting rid the pain and inflammation. Immediate pain relief and reduced inflammation can also relieve some of the pressure that's being placed on your tissue(s) and stop your injury from getting worse.
  • Use Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST®) - After any inflammation and/or swelling has been reduced, you can use your own blood flow to maximize healing of damaged tissue and maintain healthy blood flow to your groin. This also boost overall long-term healing of this injury.
  • Avoid activities that caused your injury - While resting your groin injury it's also important to avoid all activities that may have caused your groin strain.
  • Long Rehabilitation - physical therapy sessions for 6 to 9 weeks that involve static exercises.

Other Conservative Treatment Methods can be Risky

Cortisone is an injectible anti-inflammatory drug that is intended to reduce swelling and inflammation in the Achilles tendon. It is a short-term solution - this treatement does not lead to long-term healing of the Achilles tendon.

In some cases, physicians may recommend drugs or medications like NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflamatory drugs) to manage pain and inflammation. Alternative medications like cortisone injections will help only with symptoms and won't deal with the actual tissue damage. Cortisone injections are designed to reduce inflammation by slowing down the blood flow to the area. Unfortunately this blood flow is also trying to heal your injury, so cortisone will slow down the entire natural healing process. Yes, your pain may be reduced, but at the painful cost of re-injury or your groin injury not healing at all!

"Medical evidence shows that cortisone shots can damage the surrounding tissue, fray tendon and ligament tissue, and even trigger a rupture. Most side effects are temporary, but skin weakening (atrophy) and lightening of the skin (depigmentation) can be permanent." (reference: American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons)

Effective Conservative Treatment Options are Available

If your doctor has decided that your groin can be treated with conservative treatment, you can join our many customers who have had great success treating themselves with the powerful, conservative treatment products we offer through AidMyGroin.

What You Need to Treat Your Groin:

  • A Professional Cold Compression Freezie Wrap® to reduce inflammation in your groin (as soon as possible).
  • A Deep Tissue Therapeutic Inferno Wrap® to increase Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy to the injured soft tissue (BFST®) to speed up natural healing.
  • A Professional, Minimal Impact Stretching Device, known as the Knee-Flex® to prevent soft tissue atrophy and gently allow stretching of your affected soft tissue.

Groin injuries can happen to anyone and right now there are thousands of doctors and physical therapists dealing with patients that require a solution to treat their groin injury fast and heal it (where possible). If you want to be pro-active about properly addressing your groin injury, speak to your doctor about adding to your treatment with AidMyGroin's system utilizing BFST®, Freezie Wrap® Cold Compression and Passive Groin Stretching with the Knee-Flex®.

The AidMyGroin therapeutic at-home healing system gives you:

  • Products that are approved by the FDA for use in the hospital or at home.
  • A 3-Step Treatment Formula used by physical therapists and doctors - with an Inferno Wrap® used to increase blood flow circulation before stretching, a Knee-Flex® to stretch out your groin and a Freezie Wrap® to 'cool down' & relieve post-stretching pain / swelling.
  • Consistent stretching will help to break up scar tissue.
  • Inferno Wraps® with deeply penetrating Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy right into your injured groin where you need treatment most (unlike other methods that just heat your skin - like hot water bottles, hot baths, etc.)
  • Cold Compression Freezie Wraps® that relieve pain, inflammation and swelling fast with consistent cold temperatures that WON'T reach temperatures so low that it causes cryoburn (like ice or blue gel packs full of anti-freeze and chemicals).
  • Food-grade, non-toxic gel packs that can be chilled in the fridge or freezer.
  • Medical-grade, soft, plush, neoprene wraps that meet ISO 10993 biocompatibility testing - providing the safest product for cold compression and Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy treatment.
  • Controlled, comfortable, passive movement and stretching with the Knee-Flex® - producing the exact same, safe, stretch every time!

If Surgery is Required...

The type of surgery you'll have depends on the type of groin injury you're faced with. The longer you've waited to have surgery will also affect the outcome of the procedure.

Has it been weeks or months since the injury?

If months have passed and your groin injury is not much better or worse since the day it happened then your doctor may suggest surgery. What next? There are 3 ways to your surgeon can surgically repair your groin:

what will happen to me in groin repair surgery?
  • If the adductor muscles are pulling your groin tissue tight and the tissue is being pulled apart then a 'percutaneous tenotomy' is done. For this procedure the surgeon will make a few small incisions in the skin to allow a needle to enter the injured area. Small micro-cuts are then made to re-start your body's own natural healing reponse and repair the area.

  • If the muscles in your abdomen have become weak, are seperating or they're unbalanced (which has caused your groin injury) then your surgeon might re-tension the large muscles in your abdomen. This surgery is done as an open repair, the tissue is pulled together and stitched in place to provide balance and strength.

  • Always risks with surgery
  • The most common type of repair for any related groin injury is a herniorrhaphy. Which involves repairing a tear by suturing (re-attaching) the lower abdominal muscles (often the oblique muscles) and connective tissue (the conjoined tendon and inguinal ligament) to the bone in your hip. A synthetic mesh screen is used to strengthen and re-inforce the tissue repair, and the inguinal ring is left intact (sometimes you will have a mesh repair of the posterior wall of your inguinal canal).

The type of surgery you are faced with depends on how severely you have damaged your groin. Your doctor will have an idea of how severe your injury is from any diagnosic testing like an MRI or imaging ultrasound scan. This will be important to your recovery time after surgery.

As with any surgery there are risks to every procedure depending on a lot of factors, including your age, the severity of your injury and your level of health going into the procedure. It is always best to discuss all possible risks and complications with your doctor, orthopaedic specialist and/or surgeon before the procedure.

It's important to be aware of the risks you may face with any procedure intended to repair your groin injury.

Each surgery can be done in 1 of 2 different ways - laparoscopic (arthroscopic / keyhole surgery) or open surgery.

Laparoscopic Groin Repair Surgery
Laparoscopic surgery to repair a groin injury

During this procedure the surgeon will make 3 small holes in your abdomen. Small incisions (about 1/4 inch each) are made below the belly button and a small, fiber-optic camera (laparoscope) is inserted to give the surgeon a first-hand look at the tissue that needs to be repaired.

The surgeon will then repair your groin injury with a few sutures or a mesh screenthat's attached with surgical staples. Sine this procedure only uses a few small incisions you will generally have a brief recovery period using conservative treatment methods (heat, ice) and get back to your normal activities within 4 - 6 weeks. This is an outpatient procedure; which means that you'll go under general anesthesia and get sent home the same day as your surgery. Unlike the traditional method of an open surgery, this procedure has less risks and complications involved.

Open Groin Repair Surgery

An open surgery is considered the 'traditional' method to repair a groin injury. This procedure is more invasive and so it's not used as frequently now that laproscopic surgery can be done. This surgery was highly used 25 years ago, and at that time it was the only way to repair groin injuries / sports hernia's. There are the exceptions to the rule, if in your case you have a large amount of tissue damage to your groin, an open tenison repair surgery will be used by your surgeon so they can see the full extent of damage in your groin and abdomen.

what open groin surgery looks like

During this procedure your surgeon will make two 3 - 6 inch large incisions in your abdomen. This will give the surgeon direct access to all the structures and organs involved in your groin or hernia injury at one time. The edges of the healthy tissue will be pulled together and sewn with sutures. Since this procedure is much more invasive with larger incision it requires a longer recovery period use conservative treatment methods and physical therapy.

Surgery is often successful at repairing a groin injury or sports hernia, but having surgery doesn't mean that you're completely healed. Pain, tenderness, stiffness, weakness and the growth of scar tissue in and around your groin and abdominal muscles is common after any surgery performed to repair or fix your groin injury. That is why a strong commitment to rehabilitation utilizing conservative treatment methods is essential for complete recovery.

Keep in mind the longer you have your symptoms prior to treatment, the longer it will take to recuperate. If you return to your activities too soon, you could cause permanent damage. You want to ensure the strength, flexibility and stability of your pelvic muscles, before taking on too much.

How Will You Feel After Your Groin Surgery?

It's important to understand that surgery may not give you 100% functionality of your leg, abdomen and groin; but you should be able to return to most if not all of your pre-injury activities. These surgical procedures are often performed with very successful results. What truly makes a difference is your commitment to a doctor recommended rehabilitation program after surgery as there is always a possibility of re-injury to your groin, even after surgery.

what you should do after groin surgery

Many people don't realize that groin surgery can be very traumatic to your body. The type of trauma you experience after surgery can be compared to what you go through when you first injured your groin.

During the first 24 to 72 hours after laproscopic surgery your abdomen will be tender, swollen and very painful. You will be encouraged to get ouf of bed soon after the operation despite you pain. If you've had open surgery your recovery will be slower as the operation is even more traumatic to your tissues.

Ask any doctor and they will tell you that the success of your surgery depends on your level of dedication to regular at home care of your groin repair. Most of our groin injury post-op clients have treated themselves successfully through regular use of our Freezie Wraps®, Inferno Wraps® and the Knee-Flex® Passive Lower Body Stretching Device.

Using these therapies will lessen the chance re-injury and muscular atrophy during your rehabilitation process. In some cases our customers have prevented the onset of degeneration through regular use of these treatments. They will even combine these therapeutic treatments with the rehabilitation plan recommended by their doctor, surgeon or physical therapist.

Getting Started with Your Post-Operative Rehabilitation

If you have undergone surgery on your groin injury then your doctor will quickly get you on the path to rehabilitation. The aggressiveness of your rehabilitation efforts and your injury's ability to heal will depend on a variety of factors including (but not limited to):

  • your age, overall health and activity level
  • the state of your injury before surgery (severe injuries like a tendon rupture, open wound, bone damage or fracture will require more intense surgery)
  • the type of surgery you have undergone
  • how soon you must return to normal activity

Speak to your doctor, surgeon or physical therapist about incorporating Freezie Wrap®, BFST® and Knee-Flex® treatments into your post-operative rehabilitation program to boost your overall recovery process.

No two rehabilitation plans are alike - The less invasive your surgery is,
the quicker your road to recovery will be.

what you should do after groin surgery

The goal of a rehabilitation plan is to manage pain and swelling while improving function, strength, and range of motion. Ultimately, you will regain strength in your leg and groin in order to walk normally and return to full activity. You will most likely spend a lot of time with a physical therapist after your surgery, but as your healing progresses, emphasis will be placed on your personal at home treatment. The success of your rehabilitation will depend on your dedication to working with your doctor and physical therapist while also managing your recovery on a daily basis at home.

Your Post-op Recovery Time can be Reduced...

Treat yourself with effective cold compression to reduce pain and swelling from your groin injury.

With the use of Freezie Wrap® cold compression, Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy with an Inferno Wrap®, and consistent stretching with a Knee-Flex® following surgery.

Cold compression is recommended by doctors following a groin repair surgery to treat your pain in a natural, non-addictive way and to reduce swelling. It's hard to find the most effective from of Cold Compression. Ice and sub-par wraps warm up too quickly or numb your skin beyond feeling - causing even more damage in your already-damaged groin! Effective Cold Compression can only be achieved with regular use of a Freezie Wrap®.

After the incision site has healed, speak with your doctor about the use of our Inferno Wraps® utilizing Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy.

Get a superior level of blood flow circulation with a BFST Inferno Wrap.

Using our Inferno Wraps® as soon as you can following your surgery will minimize the growth of scar tissue that forms as you heal. Treating scar tissue is the most important step following surgery, especially to improve its range of motion.

Leaving the scar tissue untreated can lead to stiffness, chronic pain, or other chronic conditions. BFST® encourages more oxygen and nutrients to flow to the area to speed healing and improve the strength of the soft tissue in your groin.

As you maintain healthy blood flow circulation in your groin it's also important to keep moving. If you stop moving your soft tissue will stiffen up and surrounding muscle will begin to atrophy (waste away). You can strengthen your the muscles and soft tissue in your groin after surgery by stretching consistently with a Knee-Flex®.

Consistent stretching will help to break up scar tissue.

The Knee-Flex® is the only study, easy gliding, wooden track device available to give you the consistent, passive stretching you need to improve your range of motion. Consistent stretching at home without the help of a physical therapist is hard and might even end up hurting your groin injury even more.

Only AidMyGroin offers a 3-Step Recovery Process that gets you on your feet faster, speeding up your overall healing with long-lasting, sustainable results.

Step 1 - Rest & Physical Therapy

Rehabilitation after surgery on your groin will first focus on protecting your abdomen from further damage and starting simple movement. The level of protection needed for your groin will depend on the type of surgery you've had.

Crutches may be needed as you'll be limping after groin surgery and need some added support.

The most important detail to focus on during initial rehabilitation is healing of your surface wound or incision site to prevent infection. This is why resting is key and you should ease back into your normal daily routine according to what your doctor tells you. Your may need to use crutches or a can when walking to prevent straining to your abdomen. The nature of your job will also dicate how much time you should take off. With an open groin repair your surgeon may tell you to take it easy for up to 6 weeks. You will not be allowed to lift heavy objects for up to 3 months.

If you have a laparoscopic repair your surgeon may suggest you can return to light desk job work within 8 to 10 days after surgery. Almost all activities may be permitted after about 15 to 20 days after surgery. Lifting of heavy weights (> 10 kg), however, should be delayed till around 8 weeks after surgery.

Your surgeon or physical therapist will expect you to rest your groin as needed to prepare for physical therapy and exercise to come. Typically, rehabilitation with a physical therapist will begin 4-6 weeks after surgery.

A typical plan for getting you on the road to recovery from groin surgery may be:

  • Week 1 and 2 - walking upright for 20 mins a day and gentle stretches
  • Week 3 and 4 - Walk for 30 mintues up to 4 times a day and jog or run for 3 days
  • Week 5 and 6 - Run in straight lines and gentle sit-ups
  • Week 7 and 8 - Sprinting in straight lines, front crawl swimming is started and sit-ups
  • Week 9 to 12 - return to sport

Step 2 - Reduce Pain & Swelling with the Freezie Wrap®

The next step for conservative treatment of your groin injury after surgery is to reduce swelling to "open up" the area for more blood flow. Anyone in the health-care business knows that your blood supplies the oxygen and much needed nutrients requiredfor your body to heal naturally after surgery. This is why doctors and surgeons recommend cold compression therapy within the first 72 hours of an injury AND following groin repair surgery.

Reduce pain and swelling after hip bursitis surgery with a Freezie Wrap

Cold compression therapy is recommended to reduce pain, swelling and tissue damage. Many doctors, surgeons and physical therapists consider cold compression therapy to be the gold standard for treatment of inflammation and pain. On-going cold compression treatments can reduce, or even eliminate, the need for NSAIDs or other medications that can be harmful to your body.

Cold compression therapy is known and trusted by most medical professionals. This is why for years doctors, trainers and other medical professionals have recommended RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) to treat the pain and swelling of fresh injuries, chronic pain, after any re-injury, and especially after surgery.

Although RICE can help to treat these symptoms, ice and inferior gel packs reach temperatures so low they can cause cryoburn, an ice burn on your skin. The problem is, up until now there hasn't been any other option to treat painful conditions and injuries with effective cold compression, so ice and blue gel packs (full of anti-freeze and chemicals) have been the only choice up until now.

The Freezie Wrap treats pain, swelling and inflammation while reducing tissue damage.

Fortunately you no longer have to settle for these ice cold methods that are uncomfortably cold against your skin, provide short term relief, cause ice burns, and numb your skin and underlying tissue beyond feeling so you don't even notice the ice burn until it's too late. You can also get rid of those cold packs that warm up soon after you pull them out of the freezer and gel that pools around your groin putting the short-term cold everywhere expect for where you need it most - on your bursitis injury!

The Freezie Wrap® is the cold compression tool you need for your post-surgical recovery to treat yourself in an effective and convenient way.

When used on a groin injury after surgery, our Freezie Wraps® provide:

  • The highest-level of cold compression to quickly decrease pain, swelling, inflammation and draw the heat out of your injury.
  • Tailored wraps that are available to conform around and treat your groin directly.
  • Effective cold compression that is unlike any other cold compression wrap out there.
  • Cold temperatures that stay right over your groin for the entire length of your treatment.
  • A home-based solution with consistent (daily) cold treatments that reduces swelling fast, decreases tissue damage after surgery, and opens up your damaged soft tissue to receive the blood flow circulation needed to heal quickly and naturally.
  • Heavier, more substantial gel packs containing a special formulation of gel - called RigiGel®.

What's RigiGel®?

RigiGel® is our trademarked name for a unique gel formula that's made of food-grade, non-toxic material that holds the cold for an extended period of time. This specially formulated gel also features non-migrating gel technology that makes our line of Freezie Wraps® truly different from any other wrap available on the market.

RigiGel® is a patented formula that gives you:

RigiGel's unique gel formula offers non-migrating gel that stays put over your bursa injury.
  • More cooling power per pound than standard cold compression wraps.
  • More gel than other wraps, meaning every time you put one on it will keep your groin cold for a longer period; pain relief is enhanced and swelling is better controlled.

Our special RigiGel® packs can be chilled in the fridge or freezer to tailor the amount of cold that you need for your injury. It doesn't matter how you cool it down, because our gel packs are chock full of gel that's designed to cool down into millions of tiny snowflakes. This method of cooling means our gel packs aren't icy-cold, just perfectly cold enough to give you the most effective cold compression available.

The cushioned gel will wrap around your abdomen and groin then it won't budge for the entire treatment period. You'll no longer have to deal with annoying pooling around your injury or have to hold a hard block of ice on your leg!

Effective Cold Compression Therapy slows nerve and cell function - reducing the swelling that blocks blood vessels from doing their job.

Treat yourself with effective cold compression to reduce pain and swelling from groin surgery recovery.

This is important because once blood vessels are blocked or damaged, they can no longer carry oxygenated blood through the tissue and tissue cells begin to break-down. Without cold compression therapy cellular break-down and tissue damage continues as the cells don't get the oxygen they need to survive. By limiting the amount of damage done to your groin after surgery, you also limit the amount of healing that needs to occur. This is a very important step to heal groin or sports hernia injuries faster and with less pain after surgery! This is why you need to treat your groin after surgery, when you notice pain / swelling / inflammation, or directly after a re-injury. Applying a Freezie Wrap® right away will stop the damage immediately and unblock your blood vessels to let your body's natural blood flow in to start healing the tissue.

The Freezie Wrap® = Effecive Cold Compression Therapy

It'll seem weird for you to read this, but there are a LOT of people out there that don't understand how fast cold compression with a Freezie Wrap® can get the swelling / inflammation under control! After you get rid of the swelling for good you can start actually dealing with your groin injury and the healing needed after surgery.

Use a Cold Compression Freezie Wrap®:

  • 24 to 72 hours after your initial injury or when you first notice pain and swelling in or around your groin to stop cellular damage, relieve pain, and decrease swelling.
  • After exercise, workouts or activity of any kind to prevent re-injury of your bursitis.
  • Before and after surgery during rehabilitation to control pre and post-surgery pain and swelling.
  • Anytime you feel your groin has been strained, is tender, painful or you're having a flare-up of an old groin injury.
  • Anytime you have swelling, sharp throbbing pain or inflammation.
  • Any other situation where you need to draw the pain and inflammation out of your groin injury.

Step 3 - Improve Circulation & Prevent Re-Injury with Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy
Increase blood flow to speed up healing of your groin during surgery recovery.

There are a lot of people that think their groin injury is gone after their swelling and inflammation are gone and their leg and abdomen feels better. They also make the mistake of returning to regular activities too soon without proper time for healing. The truth is that healing takes time and after the swelling is gone your groin injury isn't even close to being fully healed.

After the inflammation in and around your groin has been reduced, providing extra blood flow and strengthening the tissue in your groin is recommended. Believe it or not, the best time for you to focus on avoiding re-injury and strengthening your weakened tissue is when the swelling's gone and your injury's started to heal. It's vital that you don't go back to activities too soon because you might bring on a major set-back in your recovery...

  • Have you recently re-injured your groin by returning to your normal daily activities too quickly?
  • How many times in the past have you aggravated your groin injury just trying to perform basic tasks around your house?
  • Is your sports hernia preventing you from work or activities you love to do?

If this sounds like you - You're not alone...

Most people we deal with tell us these scenarios have happened to them many times in the past. The real challenge is how to promote blood flow to your injured groin without causing further injury.

What can you do to actually start healing your groin injury after surgery?

Increase blood flow to speed up healing of your groin during surgery recovery.

The answer is simple. Your body can heal itself and it's the blood in your body that makes it all happen. Your blood is how everything that's good inside of you is transported directly to your injured tissue. Your blood carries oxygen, nutrients, water and antibodies right to the source of your injury and pain. Bringing proper blood flow to your groin is essential to healing.

Promoting blood flow around injured tissue to help the body heal itself is a concept that's been used for centuries. Oxygen and nutrients, carried in your own blood, are critical for the body to heal itself. Without proper blood flow, recovering from your groin injury will be delayed... Sometimes for a very long period of time.

Even though the concept is simple, improving blood flow to your groin can be difficult when you're recovering from surgery. Traditional methods require you to move your body in order to promote blood flow. This same motion that promotes blood flow can also make your pain much worse and slow down your recovery efforts (especially if you need to rest your groin after surgery and you're easing into exercise or stretches under the guidance of a physical therapist). Relying on movement alone to increase blood flow puts you in danger of re-injuring your groin after it's been repaired.

So what do you do when you need to increase blood flow, but you can't move your groin without re-injuring your tissue?

This is where the Inferno Wrap® and Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST®) come in!

The Inferno Wrap increases blood flow to speed up healing, soften scar tissue and prevent re-injury.

Using Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy (BFST®), will help with your recovery and heal your groin more completely. BFST® increases the amount of blood that flows naturally to your soft tissue to nourish your deep tissue, improving elasticity and speeding the healing process. This increased Blood Flow Stimulation Therapy to your damaged muscles, tendons and ligaments is greatly needed to complete your healing and avoid re-injury once and for all.

The only way to get BFST® is through use of an Inferno Wrap®.

The Inferno Wrap® is the only treatment method that improves blood flow and circulation on a deep tissue level. Other methods of warming / heating tissue (hot water bottles, hot baths, etc) will only ever increase blood flow on a surface / skin level. These methods need a LOT of time to even reach your damaged groin on a deep tissue level. And even if you were to use them this long your skin would heat up to an uncomfortable level and may even burn you.

The best source of heat treatment is from a product where you don't even feel that much heat. When you don't feel the heat, it means the therapy is working in your deep soft tissue which is really where you need it. It's kind of like how your heart works in your body. You can't "feel" your heart pumping blood all around your body to your arms and legs. You can't even hear your own heartbeat without listening very closely. This is exactly how deep tissue BFST® works too!

You're not supposed to "feel" a lot of heat because the heat isn't treating your skin, it's treating your groin injury, increasing the blood flow right where your damaged tissue is!

Treatment must continue after surgery to heal damaged tissue and speed up the recovery process.
  • When treating groin pain or any soft tissue injury, an effective therapy will increase blood flow to the injury while your body is immobile.
  • This increase in blood flow will accelerate the body's own ability to heal itself.
  • The Inferno Wrap® is the most highly effective blood flow stimulation device that you'll find on the market that is approved by the FDA for use in the home or hospital.

Regular treatments with an Inferno Wrap® can reduce pain and stiffness from scar tissue and increase overall flexibility in your groin. Increased blood flow will whisk away damaged tissue, toxins, and any bacteria in or around your injured groin to promote more effective healing. Getting rid of toxins will allow all of the positive healing processes to start in your injury. Increasing blood flow will also increase the amount of oxygen that's being sent to your injured tissue AND boost your tissue's ability to absorb oxygen. (reference: 1)

How Does the Inferno Wrap® Promote BFST®?

Electromagnetic energy increases blood flow on a deep tissue level.

Every Inferno Wrap® contains a patented Energy Web® that's flexible and shaped to conform around the area you're treating. The Energy Web® provides a uniform wave of healing electromagnetic energy over the entire treatment area. This energy travels deep inside your soft tissue to stimulate blood flow on the deep tissue level where it's needed to heal your injury. It's the electromagnetic energy provided provided by our Inferno Wraps® that's crucial to the healing process.

Electromagnetic energy is the only way to get your blood flow moving on a deep tissue level for these reasons:

  • Electromagnetic energy waves are not heat waves.

  • When emitted from the Inferno Wrap®, electromagnetic energy waves penetrate right through your skin and fat layers until they get to your damaged tissue.
  • Once these energy waves reach your injured groin, they're absorbed and quickly converted into heat energy right at the location of your injury
  • The idea of electromagnetic energy waves is slowly catching on in North American, but the truth is, it's a technology that's been used for decades
Electromagnetic energy has been studied by researchers for decades.

Many people just don't know that over the past 30 years, researchers in Japan and China have completed extensive studies on the use of electromagnetic energy for healing and their findings have been impressive. Success has been reported in studies from countries like Sweden and Germany. Research is continuing and soon, much of North American will know what the Far East and Europe has known for a long time...

Electromagnetic energy provides a wide range of health benefits for those not only suffering from bursitis, but for many other soft tissue injuries as well.

Regular treatment with the electromagnetic energy in our Inferno Wraps® will ensure:

  • Your pain will be reduced.
  • Your injured groin will heal at an accelerated rate with reduced potential for re-injury.
  • Your soft tissue will have a larger range of motion and increased extensibility of collagen tissue. (Chapter 9 of "Therapeutic Heat and Cold", 4th edition. (amazon.com link - Ed. Justus F. Lehmann, M.D., Williams, and Wilkin)

Electromagnetic Energy = Increased Blood Flow = More Oxygen, More Nutrients and Less Toxins = Faster Healing

Get a superior level of blood flow circulation with a BFST Inferno Wrap.

Our Inferno Wraps® are uniquely patented designs that are better than other alternatives out there for more than just the electromagnetic energy they provide! Our wraps are made from medical-grade material - this should be as important to you as it is to us. Other products that are sold in stores are considered "consumer goods" meaning the material only needs to be as good as a sweater that you wear. Clothing articles like this don't need to meet high standards of production or materials and may include materials that irritate your skin.

Since our wraps are medical-grade products registered with the FDA, they are of a higher quality and need to meet way more standards for manufacturing (ISO 10993 - biocompatibility testing). This makes our wraps the safest product to increase blood flow circulation.

Our manufacturer has spent years perfecting the wrap design to make sure you get the treatment you deserve!

Use BFST® Inferno Wraps®:

  • After swelling and inflammation have been reduced with cold compression.
  • Before exercise or workouts to warm up your groin to prevent re-injury.
  • Before and after surgery during rehabilitation to warm up your tender groin tissue before physical therapy exercising or stretching.
  • Anytime you feel your soft tissue has stiffened up, is tight and your mobility is reduced causing you more pain.
  • Anytime you have sore or aching tissue in and around your groin.
  • Any other situation where you need to increase blood flow to your groin to relax your soft tissue, relieve pain, prevent re-injury and enhance flexibility of your tissue.

Step 4 - Use the Knee-Flex® to Exercise At Home & Prevent Scar Tissue Build-Up
Stretching is needed for recovery after groin surgery

The final step in groin surgery rehabilitation is stretching - this is a critical step for complete recovery from your groin injury!

When your groin is injured, stretching plays a huge role in treating your injury with or without surgery... This is especially true if you're immobilizing your groin to allow for proper rest. Long-term immobilization of your groin can lead to massive amounts of scar tissue that stiffens the entire area and causes your surrounding tissue to atrophy (waste away).

For many people stretching seems like a basic thing but you'd be surprised by how many people there are that don't understand the importance of stretching any groin injury, especially after surgery.

Your body supports an intense amount of weight everyday. Your groin and abdomen are at the core of your body where you need the most stability and balance to be strong and healthy. When you suffer from a groin injury you're unable to support your own weight in the same way you used to. This can make simple tasks like walking or even standing extremely difficult for you. A full recovery from your groin injury (especially after surgery) depends on your commitment to stretching and strengthening exercises.

Physical therapists will manually manipulate your body to increase flexibility of your groin after surgery.

Physical therapists prescribe gentle stretching of your groin after surgery. They don't prescribe this to annoy you - it's in fact the most important part of your bursitis recovery. You probably know someone that chose not to do any stretching - and they paid a high price for it. By not listening to their therapist (ie. not stretching), there is a huge chance of re-injuring your groin or even getting a more serious injury than your original hernia.

Ask any physical therapist and they'll tell you the key to a successful recovery is commitment to at home exercise!

Our Knee-Flex Passive Strething Device will increase flexibility of your healing tissue and help to break up scar tissue that forms.

It may seem hard to believe but it's true... Stretching is the secret of healing your groin after surgery. Consistent stretching is one of the only solutions to break up scar tissue that forms in your groin as it heals.

You can achieve safe, consistent, controlled leg movement and stretching with the Knee-Flex® Passive Groin Stretching Device. This device is designed to provide you with a sturdy track to move your lower body; allowing you to stretch out and elongate the soft tissue in your leg, work out scar tissue in your groin and increase your overall flexibility / mobility.

Stretching is amazing for your groin and will bring your overall post-op rehab to a whole new level. Stretching with a Cold Compression Freezie Wrap® and BFST® Inferno Wrap® is even better!

The Knee-Flex® is a Special Design Created for People Just Like You

The Knee-Flex is a unique design that gives you the consistent groin stretching you need after surgery.

I spent a very long time searching for this treatment option to specifically aid in the recovery of groin injuries after surgery. I was introduced to a carpenter (let's call him Paul) about 1 year ago. Paul had designed and created this device especially for his friend Earl that was trying to recover from a bad knee injury. The muscles, tendons and ligaments in and around his knee joint were seizing up from decreased use (immobility).

Earl was instructed by his doctor to put his foot in a plastic garbage bag while sitting. After his foot was in the bag, Earl was supposed to stretch his leg and strengthen his knee by sliding his foot forward and backward across the floor. Earl complained of the intense pain he felt when the bag would crase, fold over, and jerk his knee around with inconsistent movement. If Earl had continued down this path, he would've re-injured his knee and end up with even more serious injuries in his hip, lower back, groin, thigh and foot!

The Knee-Flex sturdy hardwood track gives you an easy gliding motion that helps you exercise and stretch after surgery in the comfort of your own home.

Luckily for Earl, his friend Paul created the very first Knee-Flex® Passive Stretching Device. Earl's knee recovered 10 years ago, but Paul continues making more and more of the Knee-Flex® devices every year - mostly for therapy clinics and hospitals in Canada that keep asking for his Knee-Flex® Device.

This seemingly simple device has assisted in the recovery of thousands of patients that have suffered many various injuries. Once a patient is on the path to healing, this device assists the patient in making a fast and full recovery.

The Knee-Flex® Passive Lower Body Stretching Device helps with:

  • Groin post-surgery rehabilitation efforts.
  • Recovery from serious groin injuries, groin disruptons, athletic pubalgia and sports hernias.
  • Increasing flexibility in surrounding soft tissue (tendons, ligaments and muscles).
  • Stretching out scar tissue that forms on your injury while your groin heals with or without surgery.
  • Decreasing overall muscle stiffness.
  • Preventing atrophy in surrounding soft tissue from rest and immobilization.

The value of this device cannot be underestimated.

Anyone suffering from a groin injury knows the importance of stretching their groin smoothly and without excessive load. The Knee-Flex® operates without the use of tension bands or any added force aside from the weight of your own leg. Basically, if you're on the road to recovery from a groin injury or recovering from surgery, this device is the first thing your would start using to gain flexibility back in this area for initial/beginner stretches.

The Knee-Flex® = A Medical Grade Device Used by the Experts

The Knee-Flex is extremely portable, giving you the option to bring it in to your physical therapists office.

The Knee-Flex® Lower Body Stretching Device was created to allow your heel to slide smoothly in a controlled environment, minimizing the chance of re-injury and additional pain. Physical therapists encounter the same issues every day when attempting to work with people who are undergoing therapy from a serious groin injury or recovery from a groin repair surgery. This is why most therapists in Canada instantly purchased these same devices for their own clinics and have been ordering this device for 10 years!

If you're recovering from serious pain, it allows a more controlled and comfortable method to stretch and strengthen your groin as well as all of the soft tissue (tendons, ligaments, muscles) in your entire leg. The sliding mechanism is extremely smooth and durable, as well as linear - something that becomes very important in such cases.

The Knee-Flex is an FDA registered device, under facility number 30006334471 and product listing number D150272

The Knee-Flex® is an FDA Registered Medical Device and is suitable for repetitive, industrial usage in hospitals and therapeutic clinics. This device is deemed safe to use without medical assistance and is also available for use at home.

When used properly, the Knee-Flex® has a proven track record of assisting in the speedy recovery of many people suffering from a strained or pulled groin injury. With regular use of the Knee-Flex® at home, you'll be able to:

Our Knee-Flex Passive Strething Device will increase flexibility of your healing tissue and help to break up scar tissue that forms.
  • Build muscle strength in your groin, hip, thigh, calf, and Achilles.
  • Increase hip and knee joint mobility and range of motion (ROM).
  • Speed overall healing of your groin injury, groin disruption, Gilmore's groin, athletic pubalgia or sports hernia.
  • Prevent soft tissue (tendon, ligament, muscle) loss (atrophy) around your groin.
  • Improve soft tissue / muscular function and capability.
  • Encourage flexibility in your entire leg.
  • Facilitate a proper warm up for regular exercise.
  • Promote healthy circulation.

Knee-Flex® Stretching = The Best Way to
Deal With Scar Tissue

Scar tissue grows to protect your groin injury after surgery.

Even when you're injured and in pain you need to keep moving to break up scar tissue that's forming in your groin. Moving when you're injured is hard. Since moving while injured can be painful - most people think it's better to stop moving, rest their body and hope that their groin will heal all on its' own after surgery. Even though rest is important to recovery too much rest during the recovery process will increase the amount of scar tissue in your groin.

During the healing process your body will fill in tears in your soft tissue with dense, brittle tissue called "scar tissue". This process is no different after you've had surgery to reapir your groin injury. The human body will use scar tissue as a temporary solution and will try to build the scar tissue as fast as possible to heal the area. Scar tissue can form fast to bind everything together in your groin, but working fast doesn't mean that the job's done right. When scar tissue forms it doesn't come together as neatly as regular (healthy) soft tissue would. Scar tissue fibers will lay down over top of the damage in your groin in a cluttered, messy and jumbled up way.

Imagine throwing a bunch of drinking straws in the air... Those straws will land in a random, unorganized way. It seems silly to think that those straws could land perfectly straight and all in the same direction.

This is how scar tissue works. The scar tissue that forms in your groin will be unorganized and won't line up properly with the healthy tissue surrounding your injury. This scar tissue will also attach to everything in and around your groin, including the surrounding healthy tissue as well. This can result in a long-term fusing together of your tissue that reduces your mobility, making your groin injury even more painful!

Scar tissue builds on the muscle as the tears heal. The build up causes pain and inflexibility making your muscle more prone to further injury.

This is why scar tissue is weak and only a temporary solution to heal your groin injury. Scar tissue is something that needs to be dealt with fast. If you try to get back into your regular daily activities after surgery with a mound of scar tissue you'll have a higher risk of re-injury. Scar tissue is just not built to withstand the pressures of regular activity.

If you have an injured groin with a lot of scar tissue and re-injure that tissue, even more scar tissue will grow to fill in those tears. If you keep falling into the dangerous cycle of re-injuring your groin without proper treatment you could end up with massive amounts of scar tissue. Your ability to move your the muscles, tendons and ligaments in and around your groin in a normal way will be impaired as the amount of scar tissue increases.

The only solution to truly repair your groin injury for good is to break up scar tissue and avoid re-injury.

This can easily be achieved with regular use of the Knee-Flex®. This device provides a sturdy hardwood track with an easy gliding motion giving you the same stretch everytime. Your movement is controlled reducing your risk of re-injury. The result is a consistent stretch that helps to break down your scar tissue and improve flexibility during your post-op recovery.

Step 5 - Return to Regular Activities

Sometimes you can still experince pain that continues after surgery, even after you try conservative treatment methods, physical therapy, and follow the rehabilitation and recovery plan created for you by your surgeon. There may be a number of reasons why this may happen:

what you should do after groin surgery
  • You may have been mis-diagnosised with a 'hernia' and the repair is done when in fact have a groin injury (two different types of injuries); which will require even more surgery.
  • In some cases of sports hernia, pain in the inner thigh continues after surgery. An additional surgery, called adductor tenotomy, may be recommended to address this pain. In this procedure, the tendon that attaches the inner thigh muscles to the pubis is cut. The tendon will heal at a greater length, releasing tension and giving the patient a greater range of motion.

If you haven't suffered from any complications and you've been able to heal your groin injury then you might be thinking about returning to your active lifestyle. If this is the case and your injury was caused by work or sports-related activities then you should choose appropriate equipment and supports for your body type and size. This equipment may include:

  • Groin, pelvis, upper thigh, hip supports to be used as required during activities (bracing/strapping/taping the area for extra support).
  • Cushioned shoes that fit your feet and are suitable for your sport (shock absorbing insoles, stabilizing heels, strong shank for twisting).
  • Mobility aids (rails, canes or walkers), reaching aids, or bathroom aids to help alleviate symptoms.
healing from groin surgery

You also must avoid doing too much too soon to give your body an opportunity to build up its endurance, and to protect your soft tissue from injury and overuse. This is especially important when participating in a new activity. Gradually increase your participation to prevent overstraining your groin. Always warm up and cool down your muscles (especially your pelvis and groin muscles) before and after working them, and learn the proper form and techniques for your activity.

If you ever suffer from groin pain again, listen to your body and decrease, modify and/or avoid any activities or motions that cause pain and irritation (twisting, turning, kicking, lifting, running or walking on uneven terrain). Try to walk on softer surfaces such as cinder or grass, rather than pavement or muddy surfaces if going long distances. If you are required to perform these motions at work or in sports and cannot avoid them, make sure you take frequent breaks and rest to prevent fatigue and pain. It's important not to rush your recovery to prevent further damage.

Are You Dealing with Rehabilitation After Groin Surgery?

We Have Answers that can Help...

Most groin injuries will respond well to conservative treatments, and this will be encouraged for up to 36 months before surgery is even an option. If your groin injury is severe enough then surgery will be needed. Undergoing groin surgery can be a scary and challenging time for most.

The Internet and any medical professionals available to you (your surgeon, orthopaedic specialist and/or physical therapist) will provide a wealth of information and details on the surgery itself, but it can be a challange to fully understand the medical terminology used, how your body reacts to the surgery and what comprehensive rehabilitation plan will get your body healed as soon as possible.

Surgery in itself is not the end of the journey, it is merely
the beginning of a new chapter. Your rehabilitation efforts will have an important impact on how soon you can return to living and enjoying your normal daily life.

It truly takes a cohesive rehab plan after surgery - incorporating conservative therapy, rest and physical therapy/exercise - to ensure a complete recovery takes hold. There is no single answer and each individual experience in rehabilitation is different.

We here at AidMyGroin provide suggestions and options for people to help get them through this life changing event. We assist many people in shaping an individual course of action to help them heal after surgery.

Groin Injury Facts:

A Groin Strain is an injury that is common in specific sports such as ice hockey, swimming, basketball, soccer, rugby, and dancing.

The function of the groin muscles (adductors) is to "adduct" the thigh. In simpler terms it means the groin muscles pull the femur (large bone in upper leg) and knee inward. If you were lying down with a beachball between your feet - to exert more pressure on the beachball, most of the work would be done by the adductor muscles.

A "groin" strain usually refers to a muscle strain in one of the hip adductor muscles. These muscles are the: Adductor Brevis, Adductor Longus, Adductor Magnus, Gracilis, and the Pectineus

Dear MendMeShop,

The shoulder Inferno wrap seemed to help me. I used it consistently after my shoulder had already been injured for several months, after receiving no real help from 2 visits to orthopedist. I feel that the wrap plus doing my own physical therapy at home and time helped. I'm so thankful My SHOULDER Is FINALLY healed!!!

Dear MendMeShop,

I ordered an Achilles/Ankle “Inferno Wrap” and a Back/Hip “Inferno Wrap” which arrived within 48 HOURS. These wonderful products produced remarkable results from their very first application! Day One: Initial Treatment @ 9:00 AM on the Low Setting for 20 minutes Second Treatment (same day) @ 12:00 NOON for 20 minutes Third Treatment (same day) @ 3:00 PM for 20 minutes Fourth Treatment (same day) @ BEDTIME for 20 minutes “Rinse & Repeat” every day now… My range of movement and the reduction of discomfort in my Achilles Tendons improved by at least 90% IMMEDIATELY. As for my chronic lower-back trouble that is the long-term result of a “minor exercising mishap” 45 years ago, which randomly flares up on a regular basis.. I am now enjoying Instant Relief thanks to the application of my Back Inferno Wrap whenever I experience any episode of neuro-muscular discomfort !!!

As soon as I began using the shoulder product much of the swelling and pain went away. I was impressed because I'm a cynical health practitioner. But it does make total sense to move blood flow to tissue that needs to be repaired. There's really no other way -- except for surgery. And I'm trying to avoid that. I'd say I have another 30-40% of arm use back. Thank you MendMeShop for creating such a simple and effective product.

I have nothing but good to say about the Inferno Wrap. I am continuing to use it daily. My shoulder is better than I imagined it could be in the amount of time I have been using it. Sometimes I go for days with no pain and when it does come back, it is no where near the intensity it was before the Inferno Wrap. Thank you so much for tracking my progress. Dear MendMeShop,

First I have a bad knee with arthritis and loss of cartilage. Over a year ago I was advised by my doctor to get a knee replacement. I am 70 years old using a arthritis drug, it is not effective as it once was, so I have been getting special shots in my knee, This combination brought my pain level down quite a bit. But I was looking for more because I didn’t want a knee replacement yet. I found you add on the internet for the Freezie and Inferno Wraps. I bought both. When my knee swells from too much activity I use freeze to help bring down the swelling. The freeze really works great and relieves the pain. On a Daily basis when I get up, I use the Inferno Wrap and I immediately can become active for most normal activities for the day without pain, unless I overdo then I do the Freezie. I also use the heat at night when I go to bed which relieves any pain I might have then. I have since bought an Inferno knee wrap for my wife and she says it is the best thing she has ever used to comfort her bad knees. Both her knees are bad with arthritis, and she is wanting another one so she can do both knees at the same time. I also have a lower back that for years was either causing spasms in either side when I would overdo activities, I bought the back Inferno after having such great success with it, each morning I lay it on the bed and lie on it for 20 min before I start my Daily activities. As long as I do this every day I have not had back problems. If I go for a few days without it, my back will start to tighten up again. I then lie on it for relief. One time my back went out completely when not using it and instead of the 2 weeks to get back in shape it only took a few days while using the Inferno. I now use it every morning and night and my back has not went out for some time. My only concern is now my wife is using it so we have to fight for it. Soon we will have to get her one. I am very active in sports and daily activities that require lot of stress on body parts, and as you get older, these body parts don’t work as good as they used to and causes pain. So any help I can get I will go for it. I have also used these wraps on leg muscle cramps for very fast relief and for stiff necks. Anywhere I get a pain I try to wrap one of these Inferno Wrap around it for relief. Great Product!

Dear MendMeShop,

I spent 7 years in the gym walking one hour and working out. I lost 85 pounds in about 2 years with a lot of hard work and dedication. After I left the gym in 2008 due to it closing I started having problems about a year later. I recently had surgery on my left shoulder on Jan 4th of this year to shave down the bone to leave enough space for my shoulder joint to work. It seemed to be healing slowly, until I probably reinjured it trying to cut down a small tree. I went back to my Orthopedic Surgeon for my follow up and had to have a cortizone shot in June so I could be painfree while on a long awaited vacation. The shot lasted until September and had another shot October 26 with a warning from the Dr that if I couldn't get any better through therapy by Jan 6 2011 I would have to have the full surgery with my tendons and muscles sewn up to the top of my Rotator Cuff. I told him I don't want to go through the pain again, since I can't take pain medication due to my daily med I have to take for PTSD and can't take them both at the same time. So I did some research for the last 2 months and kept coming up with the MendMeShop Left Shoulder Inferno Wrap. I printed all the material and showed it to my OS and he said to try it if I think it will help me. I received it in 2 days last Friday and was out of town overnight. So I didn't get to try it until Saturday night. I tried it wrapped over a sweater with a thermal shirt underneath and the heat went right through and felt like I was at the physical therapist. The next day I did a few 60 minute sessions and I could feel my muscles ache a little bit, but NO PAIN praise God !!! I was buying a large tube of Extra Strength Muscle Rub with 16 % Menthol once a week to bear the pain along with 800 ML of Ibuprofen.Today is Thursday and I haven't had to put any rub on my shoulder since coming home Saturday night. This Inferno Wrap is incredible and is worth every penny. I am on Disability so I can't afford to waste a penny, but this purchase is becoming a lifesaver for me. Sometimes I just unplug from the charger, tuck the little 8 inch connector, then I tighten the wrap to make it a compression support and the heat stays in it for hours and allows me to be able to function a lot less painful since I am left handed also. If I could give it a 10 star rating instead of a 5 star I would. I will keep you all up to date a few times a week as I progress, along with any replies I might receive. Sun Nov 14, 2010 2:51 pm

Dear MendMeShop,

I ordered this wrap after finding out I have a Calcium deposit in my shoulder which has turned to Tendinitis. The Freezie wrap is awesome and instantly takes the pain away. The only thing negative I can say is if you are right at a 40 size chest order the SM/LG (under 40'). I am in the process of exchanging sizes because I ordered the LG/XL (40'-48') and the wrap is bulky and very big. I am right on the cute off for 40' and went bigger when I first ordered and should have ordered the small.

Dear MendMeShop,

I recently went to a Rheumatologist and was diagnosed with DeQuervains tenosynovitis. I was tested and treated with a cortizone shot, pain medication and was told to continue using the brace I bought previous to the visit. The shot may have lasted all of 4 hours. I went online to research the condition and treatment. I ordered the Wrist Inferno Wrap immediately after reading the reviews and what it could do for the pain I was experiencing. To my surprise this wrap starting working within a couple of days. I could not believe it! Although this treatment indicates it would take atleast 4 to 6 weeks, I am experiencing relief already. The nodule beneath my thumb where I was experiencing the spasms has disappeared. THIS PRODUCT really works. I am so greatful to you and endorse this product 100%. I am hoping to be completely healed with continued use soon. Thank you so much for creating a product that TRULY WORKS. I use as recommended 3 times a day including in the office. I rate this product as EXCELLENT!

Dear MendMeShop,

MendMe products are the Cadillac of at-home treatment options. They are robustly constructed to provide superior heat or cold contact to the injured area and the fit is incredibly precise and adaptable. My husband and I use them repeatedly as typical ageing athletes with lots of old injuries. I have loaned them to friends on my paddle tennis team and everyone raves. Yes, they cost a bit more but save untold thousands in visits to chiropractors, physical therapists and doctors. We are among the sites biggest fans.

Dear MendMeShop,

I fell down on ice last March, hit my left shoulder on the ground pretty hard and stirred up an old injury that hadn't bothered me for twenty years. I was in a great deal of pain and tried everything I could think of that might help. I only found temporary relief from the pain. It wasn't until I began using your Shoulder Inferno Wrap that I truly began to heal and the pain slowly began to subside. After several months, I still use the Wrap daily to maintain the healing and progress I've made. I then also sought the advice of a physical therapist because in addition to the pain I used to have before using the Wrap, I was still dealing with stiffness and a very limited range of motion. After examining me, the therapist said I didn't have rotator cuff issues just muscle issues, a thing called "frozen shoulder". For seven weeks now I have received help from a massage therapist and am slowly improving the range of motion. I chose to work with her because her sessions include massage and stretching. A session leaves my shoulder feeling slightly sore. I use the Inferno Wrap afterwards and the heat I feel as it works relieves the soreness. I am sure using the Wrap also helps the muscles "remember" longer the right way they are supposed to feel and function. Combining the Wrap with massage therapy has been a winning combo for me! Do I dare confess...I love the Wrap so much that I will definitely buy another one. The Back Wrap will be my next purchase from you. I mean this whole-heartedly - thank you for the Wrap! I am also pleased with your customer service. Dealing with you was a pleasure. You really do care about your customers! I am delighted and impressed with your product and your people. __________________

I am most satisfied with the products that I purchased. It is clearly high quality and I am positive it will heal my knee in the long run. I am really looking forward to getting my knee sorted out permanently. I did have a knee operation about two years ago but there were no time to give it a decent recovery time. Unfortunately as a mechanic working on the power plant here in Salerno, we work on gravel surfaces 24/7 for 85 days before returning home for a 3 week vacation. At the age of 53 it becomes real stress full and I also had to put away my running shoes, which was also a blow to me. Dear MendMeShop,

I'm doing well with my Inferno Wraps. I have one for my foot, leg, back, and elbow. My elbow IS gradually getting better. The foot/ankle/Achilles, leg, and back/hip are helping a lot. I have a complex soft tissue injury from a fall where my foot was asleep and I did not know it ... UNTIL I fell on the floor, having twisted (running on my foot that turned over) my ankle, knee, and hip. I have healed well from the original injury (now 4 years ago) with lots of chiropractic and massage therapy and lots of rehab. One of my rehabs now is "Ballroom Dancing" with a teacher who understands injuries. I call it "Physio-dance therapy for rehabilitation." I've done this for the last 8 months and have gotten incredibly stronger and improved coordination and balance. But, 3 weeks ago I "strained" my Achilles/calf/ankle/foot muscles and tendons. I purchased the Inferno Wraps to help expedite my healing, which they HAVE DONE and I've only used them 2 weeks now. I am using them 2 times per day, every day.
